What therapy will look like

Therapy with Dr. Beavers will begin with a brief 15 minute phone consultation to determine if his approach to therapy would be a good fit and match with your clinical needs and wants. From there an initial appointment would be scheduled where all paperwork could be completed. Dr. Beavers would typically conduct an extensive personal history interview, though this is not always needed. From there a primary focus for therapy would be agreed upon and regular 50 minute appointments would begin.

Approach to Therapy

Dr. Beavers prefers to work from within an existential framework where questions of meaning and purpose of life are typically explored. He also draws from psychodynamic theories with an emphasis on coming to understand how your early life experiences shaped who you are and continue to exert influence on your present functioning.
